This week, Guantánamo!!! It was an incredible experience.

We arrived in Gitmo on Friday and stared going around the town, everybody knew Crystle and I were coming so the first thing we did was attend a big lunch and then we visited one of the bars they have in the base. We talked about Gitmo and what is was like living there. The next days we had a wonderful time, this truly was a memorable trip! We hung out with the guys from the East Coast and they showed us the boat inside and out, how they work and what they do, we took a ride around the land and it was a loooot of fun!

We also met the Military dogs, and they did a very nice demonstration of their skills. All the guys from the Army were amazing with us.

We visited the Detainees camps and we saw the jails, where they shower, how the recreate themselves with movies, classes of art, books. It was very interesting.

We took a ride with the Marines around the land to see the division of Gitmo and Cuba while they were informed us with a little bit of history.

The water in Guantánamo Bay is soooo beautiful! It was unbelievable, we were able to enjoy it for at least an hour. We went to the glass beach, and realized the name of it comes from the little pieces of broken glass from hundred of years ago. It is pretty to see all the colors shining with the sun. That day we met a beautiful lady named Rebeca who does wonders with the glasses from the beach. She creates jewelry with it and of course I bought a necklace from her that will remind me of Guantánamo Bay :)

I didn’t want to leave, it was such a relaxing place, so calm and beautiful.

Burger Queen!

I think these kids are so cute. It's this little high school clique out of L.A. (westside what what what!) called the Power Rangers. Anyway they've started this new dance called Jerkin'. Which , from what I can tell, primarily involves wearing skinny jeans. Anyway the girl rapping is their, I guess sister, crew Pink Dollaz. Also high school kids. And it's so funny because it just reminds me of being young and using curse words for the first time, and then repeating them in every sentence in the company of your friends and unknown random adults who can't do anything to you in terms of punishment, doing life threatening things like running into the middle of the street, and obsessively talking about sex, something that your like 5 or 6 years off from actually experiencing. Aww the good ol' days. And lastly the reason why I find this video so amusing and the Burger Queen joke so funny is that I still have the sense of humor of a 13 year old boy. Yeah, like really. Really.

oh and p.s. i kind of suspect that they think the Power Rangers is a funny retro reference. i mean the Power Rangers could of possibly have aired before they were born. doesn't that make you feel old?

it's a stickup kid

In the early morning hours of Sunday, Jan. 25, masked thieves climbed onto a second-floor awning at the famous German luxury department store Kaufhaus des Westens, then forced open a window. The three men, who were caught on surveillance tape, lowered themselves to the main floor of the store with a rope ladder.

The criminals managed to avoid setting off the store's security systems, including motion detectors, while breaking into cabinets and showcases at a boutique of the jewelry store Christ. They made it out of the building undetected, with jewelry and watches reportedly worth millions of euros. The robbery was unprecedented in its scale and daring, according to a spokesperson for the store. "There's no comparable crime in the store's history," said Petra Fladenhofer.

In the process, the burglars left behind the rope ladder as well as the glove that would provide investigators with the decisive clue, albeit a more complicated one than it first appeared.

When police found traces of DNA on a glove left at the scene of the crime, it seemed that the criminals responsible for Germany's most spectacular heist in years would be caught. But the DNA led to not one but two suspects -- 27-year-old identical, or monozygotic, twins with near-identical DNA.

German law stipulates that each criminal must be individually proven guilty. The problem in the case of the o. brothers is that their twin DNA is so similar that neither can be exclusively linked to the evidence using current methods of DNA analysis. So even though both have criminal records and may have committed the heist together, Hassan and Abbas O. have been set free.

According to the daily, the twins sent a message that they were "proud of the German constitutional state and gave it their thanks."

There is still no trace of a third suspect -- or the money.

Young man, there's no need to feel down - Village People

So I'm out for drinks, with what I thought would be a team effort but it's just this one guy. I had met this particular guy with his "partner" out and about several times. The day before they had invited me to lunch, couldn't make it so I was told to come out for drinks the next night. Which I did but it was a more solo affair. I kept inquiring of my companion for the evening where his partner was, what he did, how did they meet. And then there was a "Wait, what?" moment. He's like I'm not gay! And I'm like WTF. And then I'm like "wait is this a date?". Yeah so that didn't go so well. And no wonder when he complimented my outfit and I was like "thanks girlfriend" he looked at me quizzically. Needless to say the rest of the evening was a total awkward disaster. With me making fumbling attempts to qualify my gay thesis. Best line of the night "I thought you were gay not because of mannerisms, it was all circumstantial!"
