1. Fake African/Jamaican/Retard Accent
Many people believe the advent of this ill conceived accent first appeared in Coming to America. However, I can trace its insidious presence back to Trading Places circa 1982. Remember the train scene where he pretended to be an African and had that weird fly swatter, and Jamie Lee Curtis was dressed as a Swedish Milk maid, and they put the bad guy in the gorilla suit. Yeah.
2. The Golden Child. This movie sucked. Eddie Murphy starred in it. That is all.
3. The above-pictured outfit. Did you ever watch the Def Comedy Jam back in the day and wonder why Martin Lawrence and all these other black comedians would wear head to toe leather outfits while standing beneath hot stage lights and sweating profusely. Eddie Murphy is responsible. Just thought you should know.
