My trip might be coming to an end because of Bank of America. This time they terminated my account. I had to take a 10 hour hellish bus ride back from Essaouira because I didn't have any money. I have been trying not to carry around a lot of cash, for fear of being robbed, but that strategy has left me penniless. Back in Rabat but I don' t know if I can last here if my funds get cut off every 5 days. Bank of America customer "service" is like chinese water torture. I've spent over $200 in phone calls to them and they still can't even spell Rabat, and every 15 minutes I'm on hold, just to be disconnected, is another $20 of money I need for food gone down the drain. One woman thought the 12th month of the year was April. All are rude and incompetent and wholly unsympathetic. If I die here in Morocco it will be because of them. They even told me that they couldn't DHL me another card but would mail it instead, with an estimated arrival time of 4 to 6 weeks if it arrive at all, since mail service here is unreliable at best. They said my card has been "compromised" but they wont tell me the suspicious charges so that I can verify. Several have been frustrated by me asking questions like, "is it possible for you to call me back because this call is very expensive," they respond by hanging up in my face. Again, Bank of America is trying to kill me. Today I saw some policeman brutally beating some street kids, there screams brought me to the window. This is not an easy country.
